PowerCore currently has multiple positions open for electricians and technicians with experience in the construction of traffic control systems. While we are located in Melbourne, we travel and work throughout most areas of Florida. If you are hardworking, dependable, and skilled at your trade we have long-term opportunities. - High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2+years experience installing traffic signals (IMSA preferred)
- Willingness to travel overnight Monday through Thursday (within Florida)
The Job Duties:
As a Traffic Signal Technician, you work with a crew to install, maintain, and repair signal intersections. This includes fiber optics, conduit lines, wiring, junction boxes, light poles, signal heads, controllers, switches, vehicles detectors, and more. These installations involve everything from digging trenches to lay down conduit to working in a bucket truck on signals. With attention to detail, you use power tools and heavy equipment.
You take pride in keeping your work area and vehicles clean and organized as well as stocked with the needed materials and equipment. As a get-it-done person whose worst nightmare is to be stuck inside at a desk all day, you enjoy this physically intense position where you get to work outside on your feet. You are also excited about learning skills that will lead to a successful career in a skilled construction trade.
